Lotus is one of my favourite flowers. The lotus is the most significant flower in Chinese art, poetry, and architecture. It symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. Because the lotus flower blooms most beautifully from the mud but it is not sullied.

This painting I created after the day I come back from the lake in a later summer in Beijing. I enjoy watching the lotus beside the lake. The best time is early evening at the end of summer, as you would see the sunset rendered everything on the lake with a layer of golden. The Lotus were holding an exciting party on the lake…the seeds met the flowers, the green leaves waved to the yellow ones, the petals kissed the water, flogs started to play Jazz…What a wonderful world!
