Life is like sea, wave after wave, pushing me to the other shore, I follow the colourful light far away, listen to the hundred birds singing on the other shore, open my ancient dream in the deep soul, dance with the fairy cranes…Cross the sea to the other shore…This shore is ‘The Other Shore’… –Qin Yue
This exhibition is based on artist Qin Yue’s new work series ‘The Other Shore 彼岸’. In Buddhism, the other shore (彼岸 bi an) is the land of enlightenment and the ideal state of transcendence from life & death and freedom from earthly worries. In this series, Qin Yue continues to explore her signature creative style and creates a profound spiritual dialogue between multiple colours and mixed materials, water and ink, black and colours, straight and curves, rough and delicate…The extraordinary spiritual call of ‘Truth. Goodness. Beauty’ can be heard in her paintings, it is singing like music through every mark and flowing like poetry in every corner. Through her deep and distinctive contemporary abstract art language, she has been interpreting the oneness of the universe, and the ideal world of harmony between nature and human beings.

We grow in silence, we leave in silence…When the words are feeble, when the tears are pale…Only silence is golden, only love is true…-Qin Yue
This exhibition is based on artist Qin Yue’s ‘Meditation Series’ created during the lockdown. With her cultural characteristics and artistic practice, she naturally combines eastern ink and philosophy with western mix-media and language to build her signature creative style. Through meditation, awareness of the present naturally grows, she becomes closer to her true self and nature, and rises moment by moment to wisdom, love, and peace. Listen to the silence then the light rise up.
