I am fortunate to experience Chinese ink, brush, and handmade rice paper when I was 6 years old. In 2006 I started to practice Chinese traditional ink brush paintings. In Chinese art history, the masters believe that a beautiful painting reveals the artist’s beautiful character. The learning process is not only about skills improvement but also involved spiritual growth. During this time, the main subjects of my paintings are flowers, trees, bamboo, birds, and landscape.
I always enjoy painting in nature, as when I see and think through the flowers, trees…they start to talk with me on my painting paper…
It was a very sunny day in May in a beautiful Beijing Park which is famous for its peonies. I was creating some paintings on the site. I always enjoy painting in nature, as when I see and think through the flowers, trees…they start to talk with me on my painting paper…Such joyful communication!
Peony was declared as China national flower over 120 years ago. In Chinese culture, the peony represents prosperity, elegance, solemnity…I hope these paintings is bringing all my best wishes to you.
Love Yue xx
